Rationale
The seminar methodology has been based around a core set of principles:
Firstly the seminars are primarily to capture, rather than provide information and the structure and methodology has been designed to gather the maximum hard data in the minimum time. This has meant that the seminar tasks are intensive and sharply focused rather than being based on discussion groups.
Secondly, the seminars need to generate a summary reportĀ and the activities are designed so that the activities pre-structure the data required for the final report i.e. the activity outputs will form the basis of the document structure of the report.
Thirdly, the seminar is designed to gather both data from individual stakeholders and also data synthesized from discussion across stakeholder groups.
Fourthly, the seminar is designed to be as interactive as possible, limiting input sessions to not longer than 15 minutes.
Fifthly, the seminar will be dynamic and iterative. Ouputs of the session will be produced and distributed or published in some way as soon as the session end so that new information generated can be fed into/inform subsequent sessions.
