Workshops
The project will carry out six workshops with national experts and practitioners from 32 European countries, i.e. the 27 EU member states, the EEA countries (Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein) and the candidate countries (Turkey and Croatia). One main aim of the workshops is to discuss the findings and recommendations resulting from recent activities and studies undertaken in the area of VET teachers and trainers. Thus, one focus will be to reflect upon and validate those findings. The other aim is to bring in place additional perspectives on the topic. This includes: discussing major issues of concern, identifying gaps and explore additional issues and challenges of the future in the area of VET teachers and trainers in Europe and beyond.
The inputs for the workshops and topics of discussion will mainly be based on secondary analysis of formerly produced materials in the area of VET teachers and trainers, which will be presented in form of background papers. These background papers present the content input for the workshops and will be prepared by ITB. Thus, ITB is responsible to providing a series of content inputs that will be made available for the workshop organisers. In a second step the workshop organisers need to adapt the generic input documents for their respective workshop both in terms of content foci that are most appropriate for the specific regional workshop, but also in terms of language and making the selected and adapted material available to the participants. Thus, the input papers prepared by ITB need to be customised by the respective workshop organisers to fit the interests, needs and backgrounds of the participants for each workshop. A team consisting of experts from Pontydysgu and ITB will support the workshop organisers in adapting the input papers for their regional workshop.
The workshop output, i.e. the specific content that is produced during the workshop sessions will need to be geared towards the overall workshop objectives. To make sure that the reporting and outcome of each workshop meets these objectives is the responsibility of the workshop organisers who will be supported by Pontydysgu in terms of integrating the results into a coherent format. The particular methodology developed
for the workshops makes sure that the workshop output is closely linked to the objectives and the reporting requirements of the project This integration process will also be supported by ITB which will be represented at each regional workshop.
