Background Papers

In order to inform the workshops and as preparatory documents for workshop participants several background papers have been prepared by the project team. Each one is about 3-5 pages long, synthesising issues, results, conclusions and recommendations in the area of VET teachers and trainers. The background papers are designed to provide inputs for discussion during the workshops.

The background papers are organised along three different rationales. The country cluster background papers synthesise dominant trends in VET and key issues of concern in the area of VET teachers and trainers that prevail in the (group of) countries participating in each of the regional workshops. The national level information provided is based on country reports that were partly generated in the framework of other studies and partly made available through Cedefop country level reporting. The thematic background papers pick up and introduce some key topics that are of particular interest in the area of VET teachers and trainers. And, finally, the background papers on conducted studies synthesise results and recommendations of European studies and initiatives that have been carried out during the past years.
